Our developmental girls, artistic gymnastics program is designed to develop specific skills on the 4 Olympic apparatus: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise. Our Classes promote discipline, self-confidence, strength, flexibility, coordination, gym etiquette, body form, mental toughness, balance, athleticism, and skills in gymnastics in a safe and wholesome environment. Please request a coach’s evaluation when registering for any intermediate or advanced classes.
(55 minutes) a beginner level gymnastics class. Athletes learn basic gymnastics and foundational skills on vault, bars, beam, and floor. Introduction into women’s gymnastics, women’s gymnastics equipment, apparatus and gym awareness for safety and overall beginner progressions and confidence.
(55 minutes) an intermediate gymnastics class. Upon evaluation and placement into this class, students will train to develop further into new levels and confidences in all four women’s gymnastics events (vault, bars, beam and floor) as well as gym awareness and gym etiquette. Students will begin discipline and structure in body form and tightness. Students will increase in strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance.
(55 minutes) an advanced gymnastics class. Students who enter this class have mastered beginner and introductory level gymnastics. Upon evaluation and placement into this class, students will train in upper “pre-competitive” level gymnastics in all four women’s gymnastics events (vault, bars, beam, and floor). Students will be instructed to perfect the training process and discipline body form, strength, flexibility, coordination, air awareness, mastery of basic and fundamental skills, and the mental and athletic processes needed to accomplish quality skill in gymnastics.
How to prepare your child for classes.
Classes require proper attire and hair support to encourage and facilitate safety, proper training and fun. All girl-students are encouraged, if a leotard is not accessible, to wear form fitted tops and bottoms. Spotting and instructional assistance will require no baggy clothing. (Boys- Form fitted shirts and soft shorts will suffice.) The students will be hanging and standing upside down and inverting themselves to achieve and train in the sport of gymnastics. Loose clothing can be uncomfortable, hinder skill and movement, and possibly be dangerous. No shoes are required. Hair should be tied up, if long, and out of the face. Please only soft hair ties. Absolutely no jewelry. Stud ear piercings are allowed. No candy, gum, food, or flavored drinks allowed in class. Cell phones will be collected at the front desk and returned upon class dismissal.
